Cookie Notice
How cookies are used on the Anglo Ascot Group website and how to change your preferences.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They can be set by the website you are visiting (first-party) or by a third party whose content is embedded on it. Similar technologies such as local storage are covered by this notice where they are used for the same purposes.
Our current position
The Anglo Ascot Group website is designed to be light on tracking. By default we use only strictly necessary first-party storage to remember your cookie preference. With your explicit consent (“Accept” in the cookie banner) we additionally use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate, IP-anonymised usage. Advertising, remarketing and personalisation features are disabled, Google Signals is off, and ad data redaction is enabled. We do not run advertising or social-media cookies. You can decline (“Essential only”) or withdraw consent at any time — see below.
Strictly necessary (always on)
These are required for the website to function and do not require consent under UK cookie rules.
- aag.cookie-consent — first-party local storage entry that remembers whether you have accepted or declined optional cookies, so the banner does not reappear on every visit. No personal data, no tracking.
- Security & routing — short-lived cookies our edge host may set to protect the site from abuse and to route requests correctly.
Optional cookies (off until you accept)
Optional cookies are only set after you press “Accept” in the cookie banner. Until then, no such cookies are placed on your device. Google Consent Mode v2 is used to signal your choice to Google: analytics storage is denied by default and only granted when you accept.
- Google Analytics 4 (cookies
_gaand_gid, set bygoogletagmanager.com) — measures aggregate site usage with IP anonymisation. Advertising features, Google Signals and ad personalisation are disabled; this is an analytics-only configuration under the Google Ads Data Processing Terms.
Changing your choice
You can change your cookie choice at any time:
- Clear the “aag.cookie-consent” entry in your browser's site storage and reload the page — the banner will reappear and you can make a new choice.
- Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies for this site (including the
_ga/_gidcookies). Most browsers allow this under Privacy or Site Settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the website.
