CLIENT WEBSITE / PRE-LAUNCH

Awe Letters

An editorial showcase for Awe Letters, a physical illustrated story-mail concept. The website introduces a world of recurring characters, explains the idea and connects readers with the brand’s social channels. The client project is in pre-launch. It is a story and discovery experience, with checkout and subscription administration outside the delivered scope.

THE PROBLEM & THE PURPOSE

Explain an unfamiliar idea without losing its character.

A physical story delivered through the post is different from an ordinary product catalogue. A first-time visitor needs to understand what the idea is, why the recurring characters matter and how to follow its development. At the same time, the explanation should feel consistent with the illustrated world rather than interrupting it with a generic sales page.

The showcase gives the story space. Its editorial presentation introduces the concept and characters, while the mobile reading journey supports someone arriving from a social link. The next step is to keep exploring and follow the brand, not to imply that a functioning subscription service already exists.

The project therefore treats clarity and atmosphere as connected design requirements. The website should establish what is being introduced while keeping the quieter, tactile feeling of a postal story.

PROJECT SCOPE

What the project contains.

A practical view of the scope at the stated stage.

01

Concept and character introduction

The page introduces the physical story-mail idea and recurring characters. It gives readers enough context to understand what makes the experience different.

02

Editorial reading structure

Content is arranged as a readable introduction rather than a product-management interface. The mobile version needs to support the same sequence of discovery.

03

Social discovery routes

The brand’s social channels provide the next place to follow the work. A social link is a discovery route, not evidence of a payment or fulfilment system.

EXPLAINED VISUALLY

A story-led discovery journey.

The diagram explains the showcase journey. It does not reproduce unpublished illustrations or story material. Purchasing, recurring billing and fulfilment are not included in the sequence presented as delivered.

DESIGN DECISIONS

A deliberate alternative to a busy shopfront.

The design direction uses an editorial rhythm: an introduction, enough explanation to understand the format, and a route into the wider story. When the physical product carries illustration and texture, the website needs restraint so that supporting interface elements do not compete with the material itself.

The same principle applies to mobile. A visitor should be able to understand the concept in short sections, then choose to keep reading. Long uninterrupted paragraphs and a wall of product options would ask for commitment before the basic idea was clear.

Commercial features would add different responsibilities. A subscription needs clear pricing, renewal and cancellation information, payment handling, customer support and a fulfilment process. Those matters should be designed around the final offer rather than inferred from a promotional preview.

EVIDENCE & LIMITS

What this project demonstrates.

This is a client website in pre-launch. The client determines its public launch, and no launch date is promised here. The public portfolio explanation records the showcase scope, not sales, subscriber numbers or delivery outcomes.

The original blueprint is an explanation of the website journey. It avoids publishing private customer information, unpublished story episodes or artwork that has not been cleared for this portfolio use. The brand can be followed through Awe Letters on Instagram.

OUR TAKE

The useful lesson.

For a new creative idea, explaining the experience can be a complete and useful first release. A shop is a later decision when the offer and operational process are ready. Explore our website design service or Our approach to see how an initial release can have a clear purpose and boundary.

DETAILS

Project questions.

Can readers subscribe or pay through this showcase?

Online checkout and subscription administration are outside the delivered scope described here.

Is Awe Letters an AAG-owned venture?

This page describes a client project. The client owns the concept and controls its launch.

Why publish a pre-launch project?

It can explain the design problem and completed website scope, provided the stage is explicit and commercial outcomes are not invented.
